The Saints swept a three-game series against the University of Minnesota Morris over the weekend. On Friday it was all about pitching and defense with
Mickie Keuning (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Angelo State))'s no-hitter in game one and
Kyle Jensen (Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake HS)'s shutout in game two. Saturday was all about offense with the Saints scoring runs in the first five innings, including eight in the second inning.
St. Scholastica Saints (15-8, 7-0 UMAC)
The Saints have won nine straight games since returning from Florida and have allowed more than four runs just once during that span … Keuning's no-hitter against Minnesota Morris on Friday was the seventh in program history and the first non-combined no-no since the 2001 season … It was also the first no-hitter by a freshman in the program's history … However, the Saints did not come out of the weekend unscathed as they more than likely lost centerfielder/pitcher
David Vogelgesang (Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) for the season with a leg injury … With Vogelgesang's injury, paired with losing pitcher
Andy Davis (Chippewa Falls, Wis./McDonell HS ) earlier in the season, the Saints have now lost two of the more talented players on the roster, including two of the top five pitchers on the staff …

Kyle Flagstad (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson HS) was also no slouch, batting .545 with three triples and five RBIs … Flagstad is currently on a nine-game hitting streak and leads the team with a .429 batting average …
Jake Nystrom (Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) leads the Saints pitching staff with four wins and 34 strikeouts.
Northland LumberJacks (7-13, 4-3 UMAC)
Over the weekend, the LumberJacks took two out of three games against Presentation College to move into a tie for third place in the conference … Northland plays Finlandia University this afternoon in a doubleheader in Ashland … Peter Aerts continues to lead the team with a .413 batting average … Colin Moberly hit a grand slam in Friday's victory over Presentation and has a team-high 17 RBIs … Travis Hendrickson is right on his heels with 16 RBIs … The 'Jacks like to run as they a total of 50 stolen bases this season … Brandon Bodart leads the starters for the 'Jacks with a 5.03 earned run average … Bodart pitched a complete game on Saturday, scattering seven hits.
