DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's and women's tennis teams will head to Fridley on Tuesday for a make-up dual match with Northwestern College at Lifetime Fitness.

The Saints swept UMAC competition on Saturday, defeating both North Central University and Bethany Lutheran College by 9-0 scores.

St. Scholastica Saints (12-7, 6-0 UMAC)
This will be the final road match of the season for the Saints … The only loss for the Saints over the last month was an 8-1 set back to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Friday … In its six conference dual matches thus far, the Saints have not lost single match … Jacob Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) set program records on Saturday, going 2-0 in both singles and doubles … Engelstad set the program record for career singles victories with 56 currently … He also has the most combined wins (singles + doubles) with 106 currently … His 50 career doubles wins are tied for the second-most on the career list … James Mack (Portsmouth, England/Cams Hill School) leads the team with 12 singles wins, while Engelstad and Kevin Hilpert (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) are tied with 10 … The Saints have won nine straight matches at No. 2 doubles … Kolin Dean (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander HS) has won most of those with seven straight wins … CSS is 38-19 in doubles matches this season.

Northwestern Eagles (8-7, 5-0 UMAC)
The Eagles will be the Saints' main competition for the UMAC title this season … The Eagles won the UMAC Tournament last season, edging the Saints by one point … All nine finals matches pitted the Saints against the Eagles … Two of the singles matches went to a third set super-breaker, which the Eagles prevailed in each … Much like the Saints this season, Northwestern has not dropped a single match in conference play, winning all five matches by 9-0 scores … The Eagles return their top three singles players … At No. 1 David Knight gained valuable experience in the college game as a freshman in 2011, while earning UMAC Player of the Year honors … Knight's doubles partner, Caleb Kauss, the 2010 player of the year, resumes his position at No. 2 singles … Knight is 9-5 at No. 1 singles this season, while Kauss is 12-2 at No. 2 … They have teamed up to go 9-5 at No. 1 doubles.
