DULUTH, Minn. – The UMAC leading St. Scholastica baseball team will be on the road for a non-conference regional test as it takes on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks in Whitewater on Tuesday for two, nine-inning games.

The Saints were at home over the weekend where rain forced a tripleheader against the Martin Luther Knights.  The Saints prevailed despite the schedule change sweeping the Knights by scores of 13-0, 9-2, and 6-0.  The 13-0 victory in game one over the Knights marked the 700th win in program history.

St. Scholastica Saints (20-8)
The Saints are now over midway through the conference schedule and are cruising through teams in the UMAC with an undefeated 12-0 record so far … CSS has nine conference games remaining after the series with Whitewater on Tuesday… Much of the Saints success has come from the offensive side where CSS has 71 extra base hits, including 58 doubles… Kyle Moody (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo HS ) leads the team in doubles with 10 and also leads the team with 34 hits, 30 RBIs and two home runs … Kyle Flagstad (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson HS) is another big piece of the offense batting .420 this season and leading the team with seven triples, including a streak of five straight games with a triple … Jake Nystrom (Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) is getting things done for the Saints on the mound this year posting a 4-2 record with an earned run average of 2.59 and a team best 35 strikeouts… Mickie Keuning (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Angelo State)) also has four wins for the Saints, including the seventh no-hitter in program history against Minnesota-Morris earlier this season … CSS is currently on a 14-game winning streak … The Saints are 2-2 this season  against 2011 World Series teams.

UW-Whitewater Warhawks (17-6)
The Warhawks are coming off of a four-game sweep of UW-Stout and a seven-game winning streak of their own… Overall the Warhawks are having a good season sitting in second in a very tough Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference … Whitewater has relied a lot on power this season as the team has compiled 22 home runs … Leading the way is Jared Fon with five home runs while Matt Beyer is right behind him with four and Marty Herum has three … Herum also leads the team with 39 hits, eight doubles and three triples … Around the bases, JT Schneider is having a successful season stealing 14 bases in 17 attempts … Kyle Stewart is having an outstanding season on the mound posting a record of  7-0 with an earned run average of 1.83 and a team best 47 strikeouts … Opponents are hitting just .189 against Stewart this season.

The Saints and Warhawks met last May in the NCAA Regional Championship where the Warhawks used six unanswered runs to defeat CSS 6-3 to advance to the Division III College World Series.
