The CSS men's tennis team lost only four games in a 9-0 match victory over the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter on Friday.

This was the second sweep for the Saints as they defeated Edgewood College in Madison, Wis. 9-0 back in early March.

The CSS doubles teams completed a clean sweep as the No. 1 team of Jacob Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) and Brian Lindberg (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS), No. 2 team of Kevin Hilpert (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) and Tom Schneuer (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS) and No. 3 team of Nick Lind (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) and Kolin Dean (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander HS) all cruised to 8-0 victories over the Viking doubles teams.

Hilpert, Dean and Alex Nagle (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) all shut out their opponents in No. 3, 4 and 6 singles respectively as well winning 6-0, 6-0.

Engelstad took the No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-1 while Schneuer took the No. 5 singles match by the same score.  Lindberg won the No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-1 to round out the success of the Saints Friday.

With the win, Dean improves his season record to 6-1 on the season while senior leaders Engelstad and Hilpert are now both 5-9 after their singles victories.

The Saints (7-6, 1-0 UMAC) continue conference play Saturday when they travel to Minneapolis to take on the North Central Rams (0-0) at Baseline Tennis Center with the action starting at 4 p.m.
