The CSS men's tennis team was perfect again in a 9-0 victory over the North Central Rams at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis on Saturday.
The Saints defeated Bethany Lutheran College by the same score in St. Peter on Friday.
In doubles play the No. 1 team of
Jacob Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) and
Tom Schneuer (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS) were victorious 8-1 while
Nick Lind (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) and
Kolin Dean (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander HS) took the No. 2 match 8-2. The No. 3 doubles team of
Alex Nagle (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) and
Kevin Hilpert (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) were perfect in an 8-0 victory.
In No. 1 singles, Engelstad took the match 6-1, 6-0.
Brian Lindberg (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS), Hilpert, Dean, Schneuer and Lind were all perfect with 6-0, 6-0 victories.
Dean continues his impressive season and is now 7-1 on the year. Engelstad and Hilpert get another win closer to .500 and are both 6-9 on the season.
The Saints (8-6, 2-0 UMAC) will take the court again next weekend when they take on the Northwestern Eagles (3-6) in St. Paul on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. and the Martin Luther Knights (0-4) in New Ulm on Saturday at 12 p.m.
