Titans Trip Up Men’s Tennis 5-4

ORLANDO, Fla. – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team closed out play in Orlando Friday morning falling to Illinois Wesleyan University 5-4.

James Mack (Portsmouth, England/Cams Hill School) and Kolin Dean (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander HS) won at No. 2 doubles 8-2 and Cullen Combs (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) and Tyler Bates (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) won at No. 3 by a score of 8-1.

The Titans (4-2) won at No. 1 doubles and the top four singles flights for their five wins. Kevin Hilpert (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) won at the No. 5 spot by scores of 7-5, 6-3. Nick Lambrecht (Stacy, Minn./North Branch HS (Minn.-Duluth)) won the fourth match for CSS at No. 6, coming out on top 6-1, 6-1.

The Saints (6-6) will be in action again next weekend when they open Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action on the road against Bethany Lutheran College on Friday and North Central University on Saturday.
