The Pipers have dropped their first two matches of the season … Hamline lost the opener to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 6-3 and then to conference opponent Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday 8-1 … Robert Becker had the lone win in singles action against the Gusties … Both Becker and David Croonquist advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Tournament in the fall … Croonquist is ranked 15th in NCAA Division III in the Central Region in singles … Becker and Croonquist are 16th in doubles … The Pipers placed sixth in the MIAC last season.

The school down the street, Minnesota-Duluth, is 2-1 thus far this season … The Bulldogs opened up the season with a pair of wins in St. Peter on February 4th, one of which was against another UMAC school Bethany Lutheran … The Bulldogs are coming off a conference loss to Minnesota State 6-3 … Katie Bolf is 3-0 at No. 1 singles this season and has teamed with Brittany Thompson to be 3-0 at No. 1 doubles.

Hamline Pipers (0-1)
The Pipers played their season opener on Thursday against Carleton College and fell 9-0 … The Pipers finished last in the MIAC last season with a 1-9 record … The Pipers enter this season fairly young, but do have two seniors in Nicole Krier and Anna Yarbrough.

Saint Mary's Cardinals (1-2)
