NEW ULM, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team defeated Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) rival Martin Luther College by a 9-0 final on Saturday afternoon.
Five Saints had victories in both singles and doubles on the afternoon, led by #Jacob Engelstad#, who won first singles 6-1, 6-2 and teamed with #Brendan Anderson# for an 8-3 victory in doubles competition. Anderson also won his singles match 6-0, 6-0.
#Tucker Combs# and #Kolin Dean# earned the victory in second doubles, 8-0. In third singles, Combs won 6-0, 6-1; Dean won 6-2, 6-0 in fourth singles.
#Tom Schneuer# teamed with #Alex Nagle# for an 8-1 third doubles victory before winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 in fifth singles.
In sixth singles, #Nick Lind# finished off the sweep for CSS, winning 6-0, 6-2.
The Saints will return to action a week from today, taking on UMAC rival Northwestern College, beginning at 11 a.m.
