The Saints men's hockey team put nine into the net in a blowout victory over the St. Olaf Oles 9-1 at Mars Lakeview Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The win over the Oles (2-1-1) completes a weekend sweep of MIAC teams for the Saints after downing Saint Mary's University Friday evening.

St. Olaf got up early on the Saints 1-0 when Derek Grogan scored on a power play assisted by Jeff Warren with just 2:28 gone by.

The Saints would answer almost six minutes later when Brett Corcoran (Parksville, British Columbia/Ballenas Secondary (Trail Smoke-BCHL) ) scored his fifth goal of the season to tie the game up at one.  Carter Davis (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan/Central Collegiate (Waywayseecappo-MJHL) ) and Tyler Miller (Fort Frances, Ontario/Rainy River HS (Thunder Bay-SIJHL) ) were credited with the assist.

The Saints would just pour it on from that point scoring twice more in the first period on goals from Colin Phaneuf (Winnipeg, Manitoba/St. Paul’s HS (Battlefords-SJHL)) and another from Corcoran.  Jeremy Dawes (Winnipeg, Manitoba/College Jeanne Suave (Portage-MJHL) ), Austin Brown (Lathrup Village, Mich./Legacy HS (Woodstock-MJAHL) ) and Miller received an assist a piece on the goals.

CSS came out in the second period hot as Brown found the back of the net on a power play just three and a half minutes in on assists from Dawes and Miller to make it 4-1 Saints.

Four more goals were scored in the second period by four different players in Brenden Bradbury (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Monticello HS/Vincent Massey Collegiate (Waywayseecappo-MJHL) ), Brandon Nowakowski (Calgary, Alberta/Central Memorial HS (Calgary Royals-AJHL)), Alex Valenti (Blaine, Wash./Bellingham HS (Merritt-BCHL) ) and Eric Kraft (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS (Lake Superior State) ) to send the Saints into the second intermission with an 8-1 lead.

The lone goal in the third period would be at the hands of Valenti for his second on the day and stay the same until the end for a 9-1 CSS victory.

Miller's assists give him seven on the season and a team leading eight total points.  Right behind him are Corcoran—the team's leading goal scorer with six—and Brown with seven points.  Through four games the Saints now have 16 players in the scoring column.

Colin Rundell (Tees, Alberta/Lacombe Composite (Alaska-Fairbanks) ) earned his first victory of the season making 21 saves on the night to improve his record to 1-1-1.

The Saints (2-1-1, 0-1-1 NCHA) will be back to conference play next weekend in a two-game series with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugolds (3-1-0).  Friday night's game will be in Eau Claire and Saturday's will be back home at Mars Lakeview Arena with both starting at 7 p.m.  Saturday's game can be seen live on GameCentral at csssaints.com.
