DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team defeated Bethany Lutheran College today 9-0 to finish up its conference regular season schedule.

The Saints improve to 11-9 overall and finish 10-0 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The regular season conference win streak will begin next season at 85 matches. The Vikings fall to 0-9 overall and 0-7 in the conference.

In doubles action, the No. 1 team of #Kevin Hilpert# (So.-Stillwater, Minn.) and #Brian Lindberg# (So.-Hermantown, Minn.) won 8-3. Then the No. 2 team of brothers #Tim Dean# (Jr.-Rhinelander, Wis.) and #Kolin Dean# (Fr.-Rhinelander, Wis.) and the No. 3 team of #Nick Lind# (So.-Cloquet, Minn.) and #Tom Schneuer# (Jr.-Duluth, Minn./Central) both won 8-0.

In singles, #Dillon Sterle# (Sr.-Hibbing, Minn.) won his match at the No. 1 flight 6-4, 6-2. #Jacob Engelstad# (So.-Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) at No. 2, Tim Dean (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander HS) at No. 3, and #Tucker Combs# (Jr.-White Bear Lake, Minn.) at No. 4 all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores. #Joe Vidmar# (Jr.-Chisholm, Minn./Hibbing) won his match at the No. 5 spot 6-3, 6-0. At No. 6, #Alex Nagle# (Fr.-Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle) was the final winner on the day with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph.

The Saints will go out of conference tomorrow in their regular season finale as it travels to face the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The action is set to begin at noon.
