ST. PAUL – The Saints men's and women's tennis teams continued their dominance in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play on Saturday as they decisively beat Bethany Lutheran College and North Central University by matching 9-0 scores on Saturday.

The men looked very strong as they improved to 4-8 on the season, dropping just four games in the six singles matches while sweeping the doubles contests against the Vikings. CSS would lose just three games against Rams later in the day.

#Jacob Engelstad# (So.-Thief River Falls, Minn.) did not drop a set on the day as he made a clean sweep in his singles match-up before teaming with #Tucker Combs# (Jr.-White Bear Lake, Minn.) for an 8-0 victory in first doubles. #Brian Lindberg# (So.-Hermantown, Minn.) and #Brendan Anderson# (Jr.-Plymouth, Minn.) both won all of their games as well in singles before teaming with #Tim Dean# (Jr.-Rhinelander, Wis.) and #Kevin Hilpert# (So.-Stillwater, Minn.), respectively, to sweep in doubles action.

The women move to 8-6 this spring season and 9-6 overall after downing the Vikings and Rams. The newly crowned Saints all-time wins leader, #Katie Motley# (Sr.-Virginia, Minn.) continued her string of dominant play as she made a clean sweep of first singles before teaming with #Kelly Ross# (Sr.-Buffalo, Minn.) for a doubles win.

#Callee Conda# (Jr.-Hibbing, Minn.) and #Danni Sonnenfeld# (Jr.-Harris, Minn.) also continued to look strong in doubles play.

Both Saints teams move to 3-0 in the UMAC with their victories against Bethany Lutheran and North Central.

The women return to the courts next Friday and Saturday as they take to the Midwest Invitational in Madison, Wis, while the men will play again in two weeks returning to UMAC play against Martin Luther College on Apr. 10. That match starts at 1 p.m.
