MEN’S TENNIS SHUT OUT BY JOHNNIES

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team was defeated 9-0 this afternoon by Saint John's University at the Arrowhead Tennis Center.

The Saints fall to 0-3 on the season, while the Johnnies earn their first win of the year and are now 1-2. CSS is 1-17 all-time against Saint John's.

The Johnnies scored three points in the double matches winning 8-1, 8-5, and 8-5, respectively. In singles action #Jacob Engelstad# (So.-Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) suffered his first loss in 2010, dropping a tight match at the No. 2 spot 6-4, 3-6, (11-9). #Brian Lindberg# (So.-Hermantown, Minn.) also forced a third set tiebreak, but fell by a score of 4-6, 6-4, (10-5).

The Saints will be in action next Saturday when they take part in the St. Cloud Tournament. CSS will open with St. Cloud State at 10 a.m.
