BLAINE, Minn. – There was no let down after last night's big win as the fifth-ranked St. Scholastica hockey team defeated Bethel University 5-1 tonight at University Arena.

The Saints are now 10-2-2 overall, while the Royals fall to 6-9-0 overall. The win gives CSS the advantage in the all-time series as it is now 13-12 in favor of St. Scholastica.

For the fourth straight game, the Saints struck first when in his first collegiate game, #Brenden Bradbury# (Fr.-Monticello, Ill.) scored his first collegiate goal. #Garet Chumley# (Fr.-Cambridge, Minn.) and #Joel Langevin# (Fr.-Nanaimo, B.C.) had the assists. The Royals tied it up a little over a minute later with a power-play goal by Tom Menozzi. That was the score at the first intermission. CSS had a 12-8 shot advantage in the period.

#Rob Rodgers# (Sr.-Salmon Arm, B.C.) scored his first goal of the season 2:37 seconds into the second period with a power-play goal to give the lead back to the Saints 2-1. #Riley Riddell# (Jr.-Wawota, Sask.) and #Brett Corcoran# (Fr.-Parksville, B.C.) had the assists.

Later in the period, #Tyler Miller# (Fr.-Fort Frances, Ont.) netted his fifth of the season with nine minutes elapsed in the second to make it 3-1 CSS. #Aaron Spotts# (Sr.-Spokane, Wash.) had the assist. A little over two minutes later, #Jordan Baird# (Sr.-Port McNeill, B.C.) also scored his fifth of the season on the power-play to extend the advantage to 4-1. Tyler Miller (Fort Frances, Ontario/Rainy River HS (Thunder Bay-SIJHL) ) and Brett Corcoran (Parksville, British Columbia/Ballenas Secondary (Trail Smoke-BCHL) ) had the assists.

St. Scholastica added one more goal in the third period as #Jordan Chong# (Sr.-North Vancouver, B.C.) kept his consecutive games with a goal streak going with a power-play tally four minutes into the third period. #Jeff Gagnon# (Sr.-Quesnel, B.C.) and #Austin Brown# (So.-Lathrup Village, Mich.) had the assists. Chong has now scored at least one goal in seven straight games. The Saints went on to win by a 5-1 margin.

#Zach Kleiman# (Sr.-Ottawa, Ont.) got the start in between the pipes tonight and remained undefeated, stopping 31 shots. Kleiman is now 5-0-2 this season. Zac Bush had 39 saves in the loss for the Royals. CSS was 3-for-5 on the power-play and held Bethel to 1-for-7. Both teams finished with seven penalties.

The Saints will be at Northland College on Tuesday night in its final non-conference tilt of the season. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. That game will not be broadcasted by ESPN Radio 560-WEBC.
