ASHLAND, Wis. – The fifth-ranked St. Scholastica hockey team allowed the first goal of the contest, but that was the only bright spot for the Northland College LumberJacks as the Saints scored nine goals in the third period to win by a score of 13-1 tonight at the Bay Area Civic Center.
The Saints have won five games in a row to improve to 11-2-2 this season. The LumberJacks fall to 2-11-0 overall. CSS is 6-1-0 in the road this season and will play nothing but conference games the rest of the way.
Kraig Wright scored three minutes into tonight's game to give Northland a 1-0 lead. That score held up until the final three minutes of the first period when #Brett Corcoran# (

CSS out-shot Northland 48-14 for the game, including 19-2 in the third period. The 13 goals scored were the most since they scored 13 against Alabama-Huntsville on January 17, 1986. The NCAA Division III record for goals in period is 11.
