ORLANDO, Fla. – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team defeated both St. Ambrose University (Iowa) 6-3 this morning and Ursinus College (Pa.) 8-1 this evening down in Orlando, Fla.
The Saints began the day with a 6-3 win over St. Ambrose University (Iowa). CSS won five of the six matches on the singles' side. Four of those five matches went to third-set super tiebreakers. At No. 2 it was #Jacob Engelstad# (

So.-Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) won at No. 3 singles 6-1, 1-6, (10-4). At No. 4 singles, #Joe Vidmar# (
So.-Chisholm, Minn./Hibbing) won by scores of 6-4, 2-6, (10-7). #Cody Bottem# (
Fr.-Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) won in straight sets at No. 5 singles 6-3, 6-1. Finally at No. 6 singles, #Tim Dean# (
Jr.-Rhinelander, Wis.) won by scores of 6-2, 5-7, (10-8).
St. Scholastica pulled out one of three doubles matches as the No. 3 team of
Cody Bottem (Thief River Falls, Minn/Lincoln HS) and
Tim Dean (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander HS) won by a score of 8-1.
In the second match against Ursinus, CSS was victorious 8-1. The Saints took all three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles it was #Tucker Combs# (

Brendan Anderson (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) winning by a score of 8-5. At No. 2 doubles it was

Cody Bottem (Thief River Falls, Minn/Lincoln HS) and
Tim Dean (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander HS) at No. 3 doubles won their second match of the day by a score of 8-3.
In singles action it was #Dillon Sterle# (
Jr.-Hibbing, Minn.) at No. 1 singles winning by scores of 6-1, 6-4.
Jacob Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) won at No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-2.
Brendan Anderson (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) prevailed at No. 3 singles 6-4, 6-4. In a close match at No. 4 singles it was
Joe Vidmar (Chisholm, Minn./Hibbing HS) winning in a third-set tiebreak 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5). The final win of the day was by
