MEN'S TENNIS DROPS TWO MATCHES THIS WEEKEND

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team lost both of its road matches against Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) teams this weekend by identical 8-1 scores.

On Saturday, the Saints went up against Bethel University and for the Royals it was their first match of the season. #Jacob Engelstad# (Fr.-Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) earned the only victory for CSS as he won his No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-2.

On Sunday, the Saints fell at St. John's University 8-1. The lone win of the day came at No. 3 doubles, where the team of #Cody Bottem# (Fr.-Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln) and Jacob Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) won by a score of 8-6. The Johnnies won all six singles' matches in straight sets. St. John's improves to 3-1 this season.

The two losses drops CSS's overall record to 1-4 this season. The Saints won't be in action until their Spring Trip down in Orlando, Fla. The first opponent will be Coe College (Iowa) on Monday, March 9th at 9 a.m.
