DULUTH, Minn. – On a night where just one of the eight goals scored was even-strength, the 10th-ranked St. Scholastica hockey team tied No. 9 University of Wisconsin-Stout 4-4 at Mars Lakeview Arena.
The Saints' overall record now stands at 3-1-1 and their Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) record is 2-0-1. The Blue Devils are 2-2-1 and 0-3-1 in the NCHA. When the teams met four times last season, just one goal separated the two schools. The Blue Devils knocked the Saints out of the NCAA Tournament last season.

Sr.-North Vancouver, B.C.) had the assist. With less than two minutes to go in the opening period, #Chris Meagher# (
Sr.-Victoria, B.C.) hit the inside of the post and scored on the power-play to extend the lead to 2-0. Chong once again had the assist. The Saints had a 12-6 shot advantage in the period.
Just over a minute into the second period, the lone even-handed goal was scored as Andy Sternberg scored for Stout to make it 2-1. Sternberg struck again nine minutes into the period with a power-play goal to tie the score 2-2.

So.-Moose Jaw, Sask.) had the assist. The Blue Devils responded 27 seconds after that with a power-play from Joel Gaulrapp to tie it at 3-3.
That was the score entering the third period until CSS took a 4-3 lead on a #Brett Corcoran# (

Sr.-Port McNeill, B.C.) had the assists. Later in the period, Stout had the man advantage and tied it up with 6:53 left in regulation with a goal from Scott Motz.
Both teams had chances in regulation and in overtime, but the game ended in a 4-4 tie.

There were a total of 15 penalties in the contest. Stout was 3-for-6 on the power-play, while the Saints were 3-for-7.
