DULUTH, Minn. – College of St. Scholastica senior thrower Trent Beseth (Stanchfield, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week after a dominant showing at the St. Olaf Invitational & Multi on January 31.

Beseth swept the throwing competitions at the meet in Northfield, highlighted by a program-record weight throw of 18.60 meters (61 feet, 0.25 inches) — a mark that currently ranks ninth in NCAA Division III this season. In addition to the weight throw, Beseth captured first place in the shot put with a distance of 17.41 meters (57 feet, 1.5 inches), a throw that would rank among the top performances nationally.

This honor is the third. MIAC weekly award Beseth has earned this season, underscoring his consistency and elite production in the throws. Earlier in the season, the senior recorded a nation-leading shot put distance and earned his first weekly accolade following the CSS Opener in December.
