BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The College of St. Scholastica men's track & field program earned two Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Athlete of the Week honors this week, as sprinter Noah Kubicek (Owatona, Minn./Owatonna HS) was named Men's Track Athlete of the Week and thrower Trent Beseth (Stanchfield, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) collected Men's Field Athlete of the Week recognition.

Kubicek earns the weekly honor for the first time this season after a standout performance at the CSB/SJU Alumni Meet on January 24. The sophomore captured a pair of individual victories, highlighted by a meet- and program-record time of 49.37 in the 400 meters. That mark currently ranks 18th among all NCAA Division III competitors this season. Kubicek also claimed first place in the 200 meters, posting a time of 22.70 to cap a dominant day on the track.

Beseth secured his second MIAC weekly award of the season after delivering another elite performance in the throws at the CSB/SJU Alumni Meet. The senior recorded a meet- and facility-record throw of 17.77 meters (58 feet, 3.75 inches) in the shot put, a mark that currently stands as the second-longest throw in NCAA Division III this season. Beseth's effort trails only his own program-record throw of 18.12 meters (59 feet, 5.5 inches), set earlier this season at the CSS Opener in December.

The Saints' double recognition underscores a strong start to the indoor season, with Kubicek and Beseth continuing to position themselves among the top performers in the MIAC and nationally.
