Saints Softball Adds Kiana Gibson as Assistant Coach

DULUTH, MINN - The College of St. Scholastica Athletics has announced the hiring of Kiana Gibson as assistant softball coach. Gibson, a former NCAA Division I softball player for the Tarleton State Texans, recently wrapped up her playing career and is now transitioning to the coaching world. During her three years with the Texans, she appeared in eighty-seven games and started fifty-seven, while most recently helping Tarleton State advance to the Western Athletic Conference Championship Game, finishing with a season record of 36-22 in the 2025 campaign. 

Gibson earned a Bachelors in Kinesology degree and most recently a Masters in Sports Administration in the spring of 2025 from Tarleton State and already brings coaching experience to the dugout. She was a heavy part of the Tarleton softball camps, working with head coach Mark Cumpian to lead team drills that focused on proper throwing mechanics and defensive situational awareness. Additionally, Gibson worked as a youth softball coach in Elgin, Texas to help teach proper footwork and hitting mechanics to those learning the game for the first time.
