St. Paul, MN - The St. Scholastica Saints competed in their final doubleheader of the 2025 season today, facing against the Scots of Macalester College. The Saints were ultimately outplayed in both games, yielding to the Scots for their final games of the season.
Game One: CSS 0, Macalester College 9
The Scots had a strong start to the first inning, registering a quick three runs for a 3-0 lead.
In the next inning, they gained more momentum, tacking on four more runs to extend their lead to 7-0.
The Saints on the other hand, struggled today and were not able to capitalize on their at bats.
The Scots wrapped up the first game by tallying two more runs in the bottom of the third inning for a final score of 9-0.
Game Two: CSS 1, Macalester College 5
Emma Bolin (Litchfield Park, Ariz./Millennium HS) kicked off the second game for the Saints, registering the first hit of the day.
Macalester marked their first runs in the bottom of the second, scoring two to take a 2-0 lead.
Efforts from Adie Potratz (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) and Bolin further propelled momentum for the Saints in the top of the third, but could not capitalize.
The Scots tacked on one more in the fourth, and two more runs off a double hit in the bottom of the fifth to extend their lead to 5-0.
In the seventh and final inning, the Saints had the final run, with Callie Casura (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial High School) scoring for the Saints. However, the Saints ultimately fell 5-1 against the Scots of Macalester College, wrapping up their 2025 season.
End of Season
