Houghton, MI - The Saint Scholastica men's and women's Nordic Ski teams concluded their GLD CXC Cup Finale in Houghton, MI today. The final race from today consisted of the 7.5 km classic interval start to wrap up the weekend.
Male Top Performers
Chase High (Steamboat Springs, Colo./Steamboat Springs HS) continued his good run of form into today by leading the Saints in 4th place, just shy of the podium with a time of 22:52.3. Next in line finishing in 14th place was Jakob Craig (Tomahawk, WI/Lakeland Union High School), who crossed the line with a time of 23:39.3. Sumner Cotton (Steamboat Springs, Colo./Steamboat Springs HS) came up with a time of 24:35.9 and finished the weekend in 21st. Three CSS athletes finished in a row following Cotton: Benjamin Boelter finished in 23rd with a time of 24:39.9, Kai Donnelly () in 24th with a time of 24:53.7, and Joseph Walling (Palmer, Alaska/Mat-Su Career & Technical HS) would round it off for the trio in 25th with a time of 24:54.1.
Other finishers for the men include Jonny Saldin (Stillwater, Minn./Homeschool) finishing with his time of 25:14.2, and right behind him was Cameron Cruickshank () with a time of 25:24.8. Ivar Dragerengen (Raufoss, Norway/Lena-Valle Viderega°ende Skole) would wrap the weekend up for the team with his time of 26:33.0.
Female Top Performers
Greta Leitheiser (Bend, Ore./Sun Valley Community School) led the Saints again today in 8th place for the 7.5 km race with a time of 27:37.5. In 13th place with a time of 28:19.5 was Charlotte (Mae) Whitcomb (Holderness, N.H./Holderness School), and right behind her was Kelsey Johannes (Anchorage, Alaska/West Anchorage HS) with her time of 28:55.6. Not far behind was Emily Erickson (Anchorage, Alaska/A.J. Dimond HS), who took 18th place and crossed the finish line with a time of 29:14.3, and Maddie Gray () would follow shortly after in 20th place with a time of 29:32.6.
The rest of the female athletes who competed today consisted of Avery Tolbert (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago HS) finishing with a time of 30:03.7, Josie Kwansy () right behind her with a time of 30:15.5, and Victoria Myers () wrapped it up for the Saints with a time of 30:54.8.
