Women's Basketball Improves to 4-1 With Win Over Crown

DULUTH, Minn. -- St. Scholastica picked up a steady 79–54 home win over Crown College on Saturday afternoon at Reif Gymnasium, using a strong start and a decisive fourth quarter to create separation and stay in control throughout the contest. The Saints opened with 20 first-quarter points and closed the game with a 27-point fourth quarter, showing consistency on both ends of the floor.

Ava Haus (St. Michael, MN/St. Michael-Albertville High School) led the Saints with 21 points, including three made threes, while also adding five rebounds and five assists in an all-around performance. Kloey Lind (Pine City, MN/Pine City HS) provided efficient scoring inside, finishing with 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Evie Schmitz (Burnsville, MN/St. Louis Park) added 12 points, and St. Scholastica's bench delivered a helpful 24-point contribution, highlighted by Jada Bierschbach's (Richmond, MN/Rocori HS) nine points off the bench.

Defensively, the Saints forced 20 Crown turnovers and came away with 11 steals, turning several of those into transition opportunities. Ryaan Speer (Rochester, MN/Rochester Century HS) pulled down a team-high six rebounds, helping St. Scholastica win the battle on the glass 38–29.

With the win, St. Scholastica improves to 4–1 and continues its promising early-season form. Up next, the Saints will host the Augsburg Auggies on Wednesday, December 3. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00p.m. at Reif Gymnasium.
