DULUTH, Minn. – The College of St. Scholastica has named Kyle Yost as the next head coach of the Saints women's basketball program.
Yost comes to St. Scholastica with NCAA Division III head coaching and assistant coaching experience, along with extensive recruiting ties throughout Minnesota through his work with Minnesota Crossfire AAU. Most recently, Yost served as an assistant coach at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul, where he was on staff during the 2022-23 season before returning to the Eagles for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

He brings tremendous energy, strong relationship-building skills, and a genuine passion for developing young women on the court, in the classroom, and in life," said Director of Athletics Jessica Cherry.

During his first season at Northwestern, the Eagles posted a 19-9 record, captured both the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships and earned a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Northwestern finished 15-1 in conference play that season, while Yost helped coach a group that included UMAC Player of the Year Lexi Hagen.
After returning to Northwestern in 2024, Yost helped the Eagles earn a share of the 2024-25 UMAC regular-season championship. Northwestern went on to compete at the 2025 National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament, finishing fifth nationally and closing the season with a 20-10 overall record.
Throughout his time at Northwestern, Yost helped coach and recruit numerous All-UMAC selections, including first-, second- and honorable mention all-conference honorees as well as all-defensive selections.
Between his two stints at Northwestern, Yost served as the head women's basketball coach at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, during the 2023-24 season. Under Yost, Megan Rouse was named the Collegiate Conference of the South Defensive Player of the Year and earned Second Team All-CCS honors after leading the conference with 59 blocked shots.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Yost currently serves as the Girls Basketball Director and Elite Teams Contact for Minnesota Crossfire. His work with the AAU program has provided Yost with extensive experience developing and recruiting players throughout Minnesota and the surrounding region.
Yost is a 2022 graduate of Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. While at Taylor, he worked with the Trojans men's basketball program, assisting in areas including recruiting, player development, scouting, film, operations and administration.
The Saints enter the 2026-27 season following their first ever MIAC playoff appearance last season.
