ASHLAND, Wis. — The St. Scholastica men's soccer team was triumphant in its road matchup against Northland, bringing in four goals while strong defense kept the LumberJacks off the board. The Saints earned its second win on the season, while also earning its second road victory of the year. 

Goals to Go Around
St. Scholastica had the momentum early in this matchup, as the Saints were able to get a number of shots on goal in the early moments. 

In the 33rd minute, the Saints broke the 0-0 tie, when Guilherme Silva (Curitiba, Brazil/Bom Jesus Divina Providência (Gardner-Webb)) scored on an assist from Keegan Chastey (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS), to take a 1-0 lead. 

After the Saints took its 1-0 lead into halftime, Chastey got in on the scoring action, notching two goals, one unassisted, one assisted by Alexander Estrada-Cortez (Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS), as CSS now led 3-0. 

A superior effort from the Saints, Liam Lothian (Redditch, England/RSA Academy Arrow Vale) was able to make three saves to keep the shutout alive for CSS. 

In the final minutes, CSS added one more goal, as David Lopez (Jalisco, Mexico/Universidad de Guadalajara) scored a late goal, on an assist by Arturo Salgado-Trejo (Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS), as the Saints walked away with a 4-0 victory over Northland.

The Saints (2-5, 0-2) will be back in action on Saturday, where they will travel to Northfield, taking on the Oles from St. Olaf in a conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
