ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — The St. Scholastica men's soccer team fell in a close contest against one of its conference rivals, the Bethel Royals today. The game sat at 0-0 for most of the match, but Bethel scored two late goals to take a 2-0 victory over the Saints today.
How it Happened
In the first half, the Saints' defense showed up big time as Ben Hallberg (Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS) was able to record six saves in the first half, as the score remained at 0-0 heading into halftime.
The Saints were handed a red card early in the match, so for the second straight game, the Saints were forced to be shorthanded for a majority of the match.
Despite the disadvantage, the game remained at 0-0, until Bethel broke the score in the 72nd minute, taking a 1-0 lead.
12 minutes later, the Royals scored yet again, taking a 2-0 lead, as Bethel walked away from today's match with a victory over the Saints.

The Saints (1-5-0) will be back in action on Wednesday, where they will travel to Ashland, Wisconsin, to take on Northland College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
