Notables

-Hallberg records five saves in net

MEQUON, Wis. – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team captured its first victory of the season this afternoon, defeating Concordia-Wisconsin. Keegan Chastey (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) scored the first goal of the day for CSS, and after the Falcons tied the game, Chastey scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick to send the Saints home happy.

How it Happened
Ben Hallberg (Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS), who got the start in the net today, was able to make some key saves early on to keep the score tied at 0-0.

CSS broke the tie when Keegan Chastey (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) found the back of the net for the second consecutive game, giving the Saints an early 1-0 lead.

After the Saints took the 1-0 lead into the half, the Falcons came out and scored four minutes into the second half, tying the game at 1-1.

Just five minutes later, Concordia-Wisconsin committed a foul that gave the Saints a penalty kick attempt. Chastey was chosen, and he did not disappoint, reclaiming the lead for CSS at 2-1.

In the late minutes of the game, Hallberg once again made crucial saves for CSS, as the team effort led to a Saints 2-1 victory in today's match.

Back at Home
The Saints (1-3-0) will head back to Duluth, where they will host the Cobbers from Concordia-Moorhead on Wednesday at Kenny Harkins Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
