DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team would bounce back after a 4-2 loss on Friday and split the series with a 4-2 win of their own against Bethel University on Saturday afternoon at Mars Lakeview Arena.

How it Happened
Similar to yesterday, the Saints would be the first team to score. It wasn't until one minute and thirty seven seconds remaining, Lyndi Schubert (Mantorville, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) would shoot from the far left circle and the puck went right above the Royal netminder for a 1-0 lead. Halle Fields (Andover, Minn/Andover HS) would be credited with the assist.

The second period brought the most action this afternoon, right away CSS scored  thirty-six seconds in to take the 2-0 advantage. Taylor Murray (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) scored the goal and Allie Bussey (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) would add her fourth consecutive game with an assist. The Royals would be called for a penalty, which gave CSS a power-play goal at 15:02. This time it was an Abby Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) goal and a Lisa LaRoche (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS) assist that would have put them up by three scores.

The Royals would make this game tighter as they would go ahead and score two goals in under two minutes, making the Saints now only have a one score lead with just under four minutes left in the second. Another penalty would be made by Bethel and CSS would once again score on a power-play opportunity. Murray would score her second goal of the night and Laroche would record her second assist. Pohlkamp would also be credited for an assist.

The third period would see a penalty on both teams, but each team wouldn't be able to capitalize. BU would get 20 shots on goal in the third, but wouldn't connect. The Saints strong second period would be enough to hold off the Royals, and as the scoreless period came to an end, CSS would win 4-2 and split the series.

Goaltending
Ashlea Arvidson (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS) had 37 saves on the evening. Ashley Hess led the Royals with 14.
