DULUTH, Minn.  (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey played their final regular season game at home Friday night against Augsburg University. They would look for a win to give them a chance at a late playoff run at the No.5 or No.6 spot. 

How it Happened
Four minutes and thirty-five seconds in the first, Kayla Kasel (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) would score her fourth goal of the year. Teammate Jessie Ketola (Silver Bay, Minn./William Kelly HS) would have the assist. About a minute later the Saints would answer back with another goal, this time it was Mariah Haedrich (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS), who would also have her fourth goal of the season. Allie Bussey (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) and Abby Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) were credited for the assists. 

The Saints now led 2-0 and would keep the Auggies out of the net for the rest of the period, including killing off a power-play penalty at 8:47. After the first, CSS would also lead in both shots on goal with five and faceoffs won with 11 total.

Midway through the period, CSS would be called for hooking, as the penalty ended and the Auggies went back to full strength, they went get a break-away goal with just under eight minutes remaining. A few minutes later Augsburg would tie the game up with another goal. These teams would head into the locker room tied up at two goals a piece. AUG had 19 shots on goal, compared to CSS's four shots.

Five minutes into the final period, Auggies would take their first lead of the game. Another five minutes would go by and their opponents would take a two-goal advantage. With 8:17 remaining in the third, Augsburg would add their third goal of the period, taking the 5-2 lead. As the game was coming to an end, Julianna Teske would receive an impressive hat trick with her third on the night. When the clock came to zero, the Saints would fall in this one, 6-2. 

Goaltending
CSS netminder Ashlea Arvidson (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS) would have 30 saves, while Chloe Stockinger had 15 saves on the evening for Augsburg.
