SUPERIOR, Wis. – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team headed across the bridge for a night game against the University of Wisconsin Superior Wednesday night in non-conference action. UWS would take control scoring three goals in the first and three in the second to take the match 6-0.
How It Happened
From the get-go, the Yellowjackets would strike early in the first two minutes of the contest, scoring the goal was Josh Bellamy who would see his night get brighter soon. The Saints had an opportunity of their own when
Alexander Estrada-Cortez (Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS) had a shot on goal, but it was high left. CSS wouldn't be able to stop the cruising Yellowjackets as they got another goal seven minutes later and then added one more five minutes later to lead 3-0 at the half.
Superior's Bellamy added two more goals in the 62nd and 65th minute for himself, completing an impressive hat-trick for yellow and black. Down by five goals, the Saints would see a shot taken by
Arturo Salgado-Trejo (Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS), but it was saved by the Yellowjackets keeper at the 75th mark. UWS would add another goal in the 84th minute to increase their lead and ultimately shutout the Saints 6-0.
