ST. PAUL, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team traveled to Saint Paul, Minn., to play Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) opponent Hamline University Friday night at TRIA Rink.

How it Happened
With eight minutes remaining in the first, Mariah Haedrich (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) had her wrist shot saved by the Piper netminder. The puck went to Lisa LaRoche (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS), who gave the Saints an early lead. Allie Bussey (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) would be credited for the assist. A few minutes later the Pipers would come out empty-handed on a power-play opportunity. It would be the Saints who end the first period up by a goal.

Halfway into the second, Haedrich skated in and found the net to make it 2-0.  Abby Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS)  and Arvidson had the assits. Through the first two periods Hamline had a 19-15 edge in shots, Saints led with 17 faceoffs at the second intermission.

The third period saw the Saints have a power-play with about four minutes into the period, two consecutive shots were saved, but a pile ended up in the front of the net, players and their sticks were battling for the puck, which ended up trickling behind the Piper Goaltender. Scoring for the Saints would be Jessie Ketola (Silver Bay, Minn./William Kelly HS), assisted by Bussey again.

The Saints would add another goal with nine minutes remaining, Haedrich scored her 30th career goal tonight. Bussey would be tonight's playmaker, earning three assists on the evening. The Saints would get the 4-0 victory and earn their 5th win on the season,

Goaltending
Ashlea Arvidson (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS) picked up the win and earned her second shutout of the season. The Junior made 34 saves for the Saints, while Airika Penney had 23 saves for the Pipers.
