csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team was defeated 5-4 by Springfield College (Mass.) in its final dual down in the Orlando area.
Doubles
The No. 1 team of
Jonas Abeleda (Sydney, Australia/St Aloysius' College) and
Giacomo Lucchesi (Lima, Peru/Santa Maria Marianistas) won their match 8-5. However, the Pride (3-2) won the other two matches by 8-4 margins.
Singles
Abeleda won at the No. 1 spot by scores of 6-1, 6-3. Lucchesi also was victorious at the No. 2 spot by scores of 6-1, 6-3.
Reece Patten (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) won at the No. 5 spot 6-1, 7-5. The Saints dropped a tight match at the No. 6 spot in a third-set superbreaker, which proved to be the difference in the dual.

The Saints (3-6) are off until Sunday, March 27 when they return to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) action and host Macalester College at the Duluth Indoor Sports Center.
