ST. PAUL (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team won four events, which included another program record, on Saturday at the Gene Glader Classic, hosted by Bethel University.
 
Boone Sets Mile Record
Another week, another program record for Calvin Boone (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Highland Park HS), who set the mile record this week with a winning time of 4:17.84. That bested the previous record by nearly five seconds. Boone broke the 3,000m record last week. This was the second mile win of the season for Boone.
 
Event Winners
Junior Samuel Eben Ebai Jr. (Yaounde, Cameroon/P.S.S. Mankon) still has not lost an event this indoor season where he has qualified for the finals as he won both the 60m dash and 200m dash on Saturday. He won the 60m dash in a time of 6.97 and the 200m dash in 22.66.
 
First-year runner Nathan Neu (Ortonville, Minn./Ortonville HS) won for the second straight week, coming out on top in the 1,000m in a time of 2:38.96.
 
Other Top Performers
Derek Douglas (Escanaba, Mich./Escanaba HS) placed second in the 800m run with a time of 2:02.66.
 
The 4x400m relay team of Jericho Peterson (Mountain Iron, Minn./Mountain Iron-Buhl HS), Neu, Boone and Douglas was runner up with a time of 3:35.46.
 
Peterson was also third in the 200m dash, posting a time of 23.70.
 
Sean Diedrich (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) was third in the 60m dash with a time of 7.23.
 
Jonathan Laughlin (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Minnesota Duluth)) was third in the mile run with a personal-best time of 4:30.12.
 
Grant Steger (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) was seventh in the shot put and weight throw. His shot put mark was 39'1.75" (11.93m), while his weight throw toss was a personal-best 44'5.5" (13.55m).
