COLLEGEVILLE, Minn.
(csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer traveled to Collegeville this afternoon, to take on the Johnnies from Saint John's University, in the final road game of the regular season. After a first half that resulted in no score, the Johnnies broke through in the second half, scoring three goals and defeating the Saints by a score of 3-0.
How it Happened
CSS was able to put together a trio of offensive possessions early, as the Saints were able to get three shots in the first six minutes, but the Johnnies were able to shut down the Saints' chances.
The first half was dominated by defense, as both teams were able to keep each other off the scoreboard.
Saint John's was able to break the tie early in the second half, scoring in the 57
th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
No more than five minutes later, the Johnnies added to its lead, making it 2-0.
Although the Saints outshot the Johnnies in today's game, nothing seemed to go right for CSS. As Saint John's scored the final goal in the afternoon in the 77
th minute, as the Johnnies defeated CSS today by a score of 3-0.

The Saints (5-9-2, 3-5-1 MIAC) will close out its regular season this Saturday as the Saints will host Saint Mary's at Saints Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
