NORTHFIELD, Minn.
(csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team traveled to Northfield this afternoon to take on one of its conference rivals, the Knights from Carleton College. St. Scholastica found the back of the net first in today's action, but Carleton was able to tie the game in the closing minutes of the game, as today's matchup ended up in a draw.
How it Happened
Carleton started the game off fast, taking an early shot advantage in the opening minutes, however, the Saints' defense prevailed, denying any chance for the Knights to score early.
The first half was dominated by great defense by both sides, as the game remained tied at halftime.
The game remained tied midway through the second half until CSS was able to crack the scoreboard.
Jordan Finneran (Newmarket, England/Cambridge Regional College) scored his second goal of the season, on an assist by
Collins Wachira (Nairobi, Kenya/Strathmore University), his first assist of the season, to make it 1-0.
Although the Knights were handed a red card in the 74
th minute, that didn't stop them from tying the game in the 84
th minute at 1-1.
The Saints made a push in the closing minutes to try to reclaim the lead, but those attempts were shot down as the game ended today in a 1-1 draw.

The Saints (5-8-3, 3-4-1 MIAC) will be back in action again next Wednesday, as the Saints will travel to Collegeville to take on the Johnnies from Saint John's. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
