DULUTH, Minn.
(csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team hosted one of its conference rivals this afternoon, going toe-to-toe with the Macalester Scots. Unfortunately, CSS couldn't get much going, as Macalester took an early 3-0 lead in the first half and added a goal in the second half, to take today's game by a score of 4-0.
How it Happened
Macalester was able to give itself a lead early, scoring two goals in the first 13 minutes and putting CSS into a hole early.
The Scots added another goal late in the first half, extending its lead to 3-0 heading unto halftime.
The Saints tried to get some momentum in the second half, but these attempts were often faced with offsides calls and a Scots defense that is fourth in the MIAC in opponents' goals per game.
Macalester scored another goal in the closing minutes of today's game, ultimately taking this matchup from the Saints by a score of 4-0.
