Olivia Howe (Scandia, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was named a Third Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Monday.
Howe becomes the fourth Saint in program history to earn All-American accolades joining Laura Heise (2004, 2006-1
st), Erica Bond Kozacek (2006-3
rd) and current head coach
Rilee Dawson (2007-2
nd).
Howe recorded one of the best single seasons in St. Scholastica history this spring. Howe broke single-season program records for hits (66), batting average (.545), slugging percentage (.950) and tied the single-season record for RBIs (56). She led the team in doubles (17), triples (4) and home runs (8).
Prior to the start of the NCAA Division III Tournament, Howe led the nation in RBIs, ranked third in hits, third in total bases (115), sixth in on-base percentage (.611) and seventh in slugging percentage. In the pitcher's circle, she ranked fifth in the complete games (19), 12
th in shutouts (6) and 16
th in wins (16).
Howe was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Player and Pitcher of the Year and was a First Team All-Midwest Region choice.
