csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team will be back in Whitewater for the third time in the last five seasons when it faces the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament Friday.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-This is St. Scholastica's fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and eighth overall.
-CSS is 1-7 in its previous seven NCAA appearance with its lone win coming in 2009 over Luther College (Iowa).
-CSS has not won an individual match at a NCAA Tournament since facing Whitewater in 2016 as they have been shutout each of the last two seasons.
-The Saints are coming off their 20

Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) enters the weekend on a nine-match singles win streak and a team-high 18 singles wins on the year.
-Rice can become the seventh player in program history to record at least 100 combined wins between singles and doubles with one more victory.
-Graduate senior
Sara Wennerstrand (Baxter, Minn. /Brainerd HS (Saint Benedict)) and freshman
Brynne Hauer (Duluth, Minn. /Duluth East HS) are both second on the team with 15 singles wins.
-The team of Rice and Wennerstrand lead the way with 13 doubles victories.
-The Saints were 93-45 in singles action and 50-19 in doubles play this spring.

th in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
-Whitewater captured its 12

-UWW has advanced past the first round of the NCAA Tournament every year since 2008.
-The Warhawks have lost to fellow regional pod participant Carleton College twice this season.
-Gabi Kitchell is ranked No. 5 in the Central Region
-Kitchell is 23-5 in singles action this year.
-The doubles team of Kitchell and Julie Martin are ranked No. 9 in the region.
-That team is 19-10 on the year.
-Whitewater is 74-57 in singles action and 38-31 in doubles play in duals this year.
