Men’s Track & Field’s Lumsden Wins 60m Dash in Indoor Opener

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team began its indoor season on Saturday hosting The Opener in the Burns Wellness Fieldhouse.
 
Winners
Malcolm Lumsden (Kingston, Jamaica/Kingston College (Lake Superior College)) began the year by capturing the 60m dash with a time of 7.02.
 
In an all St. Scholastica field, Matt Stuber (North Branch, Minn., North Branch HS) beat out his teammates to win the 3,000m run in a time of 9:53.08.
 
Top Performances
Samuel Eben Ebai Jr. (Yaounde, Cameroon, P.S.S. Mankon) was fourth in the 60m dash, posting a time of 7.19. Jericho Peterson (Mountain Iron, Minn., Mountain Iron-Buhl HS) was fifth in a time of 7.23. Peterson was also fourth in the 200m dash finishing in 23.43.
 
Devon Byers (Ironwood, Mich., A.D. Johnston HS) was second in the 3,000m run with a time of 10:07.98.
 
Jake Bonasera (Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS) was fourth in the shot put with a mark of 38'4.25" (11.69m). Lucas Siefers (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) was fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 39'7.75" (11.93m).
 
Up Next
The Saints are now off until 2020 where they will compete at the University of Minnesota Open on Saturday, January 11.
