DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team plays host to Saint Anselm College (N.H.) on Friday before hitting to road to take on seventh-ranked University of St. Thomas on Saturday.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-After hitting a three game skid against ranked opponents, the Saints rebounded to win three straight to end 2018.
-The Saints are tied with Lake Forest College (Ill.) for second place in the NCHA standings.
-Sophomore Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) leads the Saints in points (20), goals (6), and assists (14), through the halfway point. Anderson leads the conference in points by seven.
-Sophomore Taylor Thompson (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) and senior Alexia Klaas (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Minnesota-Duluth)) also have 12 or more points on the season.
-Lexi Thomeczek (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph Academy (St. Louis AAA Blues)) has seen the majority of time in goal for the Saints. She owns a 1.99 GAA to pair with a .937 save percentage with a 4-3-1 record.
-At the halfway point the Saints power play is 14/53 (.264) which leads the conference.
-The Saints penalty kill is holding opponents to a .132 conversion rate.
-The Saints are 6-2-0 at home this season and 2-1-1 on the road.
-CSS has out-scored teams 30-12 in the second and third periods.
-Friday's game vs. Saint Anselm will be the team's lone home game in the month of January.

-Saint Anselm is a NCAA Division II team out of New Hampshire
-They will be in St. Paul Thursday night to face Hamline University before making the trip to Duluth.
-Sophomore Katy Meehan leads the Hawks in goals (10) and points (18). Amanda Nylander leads the team in assists.
-Maddie Scavotto has played most minutes for the Hawks this year. She owns a 7-1-1 record paired with a 1.21 GAA and a .936 save percentage.
-All their players are zero or above in the +/- stat category.
-Saint Anselm is averaging 4.54 goals per game this season
-The Hawks are 6-1-1 away from home this season, and 18-2-1 dating back to last season.
-The Hawks have won seven games by three or more goals this year.

-St. Thomas has only allowed five goals this season.
-They average 3.36 goals per game.
-They are 6-0 at home this season, and 15-1-3 dating back to last year.
-Sophomore Maddy Fiedler leads the Tommies in points (11), goals (4), and assists (7) this season.
Junior Allison Parnell, freshman Anna Solheim, and junior Rachel Werdin also all have four goals.
-Mackenzie Torpy has an 11-0 record with a .38 GAA with a nation leading .981 save percentage.
-Torpy has seven shutouts thus far.
-The Tommies are out-scoring teams 29-3 in the second and third periods.

Series History: Just under a year ago from Saturday's meeting these teams played their first meeting at Mars Lakeview Arena. CSS tied the eighth ranked Tommies 2-2.
 
Looking Ahead: The Saints jump back into NCHA play and go to Angola, Indiana to face Trine University next weekend.
