What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints got their first sweep of the 2018 season with back-to-back shutouts against Marian University (Wis.). Lexi Thomeczek (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph Academy (St. Louis AAA Blues)) was in net on Friday for the Saints as she picked up her first shutout on the young season with a 28-save performance, it improved her season save percentage to .972. Lori Huseby (Babbitt, Minn./Northeast Range HS) got her first start of the season in Saturday's overtime win stopping all 16 shots she faced.
-Thomeczek's shutout on Friday set a new program record for career shutouts with her seventh.
-Four different Saints picked up goals in the weekend sweep, freshmen Amber Tilander (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS) and Kayla Kasel (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) both picked up tallies late in the second period to put the Saints up 2-0 Friday, Alexia Klaas (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Minnesota-Duluth)) added an empty netter in the third to put the game away.
-Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) scored the game's only goal Saturday 1:59 into the overtime period on the Power Play.
-The Saints scored their first two power-play goals of the season, one in each game. They improved to 2-for-17 on the season.
-The Saints didn't allow a power play goal all weekend and now are 15-for-16 on the kill this season.
- Anderson leads the Saints in points (3) and goals (2). Kasel and Tilander also have two goals for CSS.
-Tilander leads the conference this young season with both of her goals game-winners.
-Dating back to the beginning of the 2017-2018 season the Saints haven't lost at home going 11-0-3 in the last 14 home games.
-The Saints have only made one trip to the Bay Area Civic Center and won the only meeting 6-0.
 
What You Need to Know about Northland:
Record: 0-2-0, 0-2-0 NCHA
-The LumberJills are in their third season as a program.
-This will be the second series in a row the Saints will face an opponent that has failed to score a goal on the season.
-The Jills only series this season was lost in form of a sweep to No. 6 ranked Adrian, 3-0 and 1-0.
-Gabby Suhr played in both games thus far for the Jills, she picked up the losses in both games, but kept the Jills relevant in both. Friday she turned in a 43-save effort with three goals allowed, Saturday she only allowed one goal on 42 shots marking her down for an 84-save weekend.
-Robyn Matula (19G, 8A) and Allyson Reilly (18G, 9A) lead the Jills with 27 career points.
-The LumberJills were picked to finish eighth in the NCHA preseason poll.
 
Series Record: CSS leads 2-0 CSS (Last Meeting: 6-0 CSS – 11/11//2017)
 
Series History: Since the creation of Northland's women's program in the 2016-2017 season these teams have met for only one series, one that the Saints swept outscoring Northland 10-0 in a home-and-home.
 
Looking Ahead: The Saints will stay at Mars Lakeview Arena for an early season series showdown with NCHA foe No. 6 Adrian College (Mich.) on November 16 and November 17.
