COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – After being in second following the first day of competition, the St. Scholastica men's track and field team finished third after all events were final Saturday at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Championships at Saint John's University.
Gallagher Wins 5k Title
Senior
Jacob Gallagher (Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) won the 5,000m championship with a time of 15:43.60. That is his first outdoor title of his career. He also won the 5k title during the indoor season.
Top Performances
Davon Bryant (Minneapolis, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) was runner-up in the 100m dash with a finishing time of 11.50.
Patrick Murphy (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was also second in the long jump with a season-best leap of 20'3.5" (6.18m).
Jack Peru (Phoenix, Ariz./Trevor G. Browne HS (Phoenix College)) was fourth in that event with a mark of 19'10.75" (6.06m).
Frank Cerar (Plainview, Minn./Plainview-Elgin-Millville HS) was third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.91. Cerar placed eighth in both the discus throw and high jump.
Easton Foss (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) was third in the 5,000m run, finishing in 16:08.63.
Ben Fern (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS) was fifth in the 400m dash, posting a personal-best time of 52.61.
Wyatt Helgeson (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS), who won the pole vault title last night, was seventh in the high jump today, clearing 5'7.25" (1.71m).
