Beseth Earns All-American Honors with Third-Place Finish in Discus at NCAA Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Senior thrower Trent Beseth (Stanchfield, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) closed out a decorated career for the St. Scholastica track and field program with an All-American performance at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at Veterans Memorial Field in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Beseth earned All-American honors in the discus throw, placing third nationally with a mark of 53.93 meters. The finish capped off a standout final collegiate meet for the senior, who competed in three events over the course of the national championships.

In addition to his podium finish in discus, Beseth placed 13th in the shot put with a throw of 16.62 meters, before taking 20th in the hammer throw at 52.14 meters.

Junior Josh Monreal also represented the Saints at the national meet, competing in the hammer throw. Monreal finished 19th overall with a mark of 54.69 meters in his first appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The NCAA Championships marked the final collegiate competition for Beseth, who leaves St. Scholastica as one of the top throwers in program history following multiple national championship appearances and All-American honors.
