DULUTH, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The College of the St. Scholastica Athletics Department held its fifth annual Saints Sports Awards in the Reif Gymnasium on Monday, April 24.
The Saints Sports Awards were established in 2013 to recognize all of St. Scholastica's 500-plus student-athletes' accomplishments throughout the year. The Oscar-like, formal atmosphere features pictures on the gold carpet, photo booths, videos and more.
This year's Masters of Ceremonies were familiar voices to Saints athletes and fans as Dave Cook and Brian Prudhomme ran the show. Former CSS track & field star
Kevin Wagner was the big winner on the night taking home Male Athlete of the Year, Male Performance of the Year and Male Career Achievement award. Women's Hockey goaltender Lexi Thomeczek was named the Female Rookie of the Year and also took home the Female Performance of the Year.
