DULUTH, Minn. – The College of St. Scholastica track & field team will be represented by three student-athletes at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships this week at Veteran's Memorial Field in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Senior thrower Trent Beseth (Stanchfield, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) will compete in three events for the Saints after qualifying in the shot put, discus throw and hammer throw. Beseth enters the national meet seeded fourth in the shot put at 18.14 meters, 13th in the discus at 52.52 meters and 18th in the hammer throw at 57.70 meters.
This will mark Beseth's second appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, after competing in shot put (7th place, 16.94m) and discus in 2024. Including indoor NCAA championships, it's his 5th NCAA Track and Field Championships event. Beseth has qualified for the NCAA DIII Championships in eight separate events throughout his career, which ties a St. Scholastica record.
Junior Joshua Monreal (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS) also earned a national qualifying spot in the hammer throw, entering the championships seeded 22nd with a mark of 57.44 meters.
On the women's side, senior Ella Stritesky (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) qualified for the NCAA Championships in the hammer throw after posting a career-best mark of 53.83 meters, ranking 14th in the national field.
Stritesky will be making her second career appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. At last year's national meet, Stritesky finished 11th in the hammer throw with a mark of 51.50 meters, narrowly missing All-America honors.
Competition begins Thursday and runs through Saturday, May 21-23. The women's hammer throw is scheduled for Thursday at 11:00 a.m., while the men's hammer throw will take place Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The men's shot put is scheduled for Saturday at 3:00 p.m., with the men's discus set for Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
