csssaints.com) -- The St. Scholastica women's tennis team blanked Martin Luther College 9-0 on Friday night at the MLC Tennis Courts. CSS has not dropped an individual match at Martin Luther since the 2012 season.
Doubles
The No. 1 team of
Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) and
Elizabeth Fink (Rochester, Minn. /Rochester Century HS) beat their Martin Luther opponents 8-6. The No. 2 team of
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS) and
Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and No. 3 team of
Syd Holt (Crosslake, Minn. /Pequot Lakes HS) and
Risako Oya (Chiba, Japan /ShowaGakuin Shuei HS), won their matches by the score of 8-1.
Singles
At the No.1 spot Solberg won her match 6-3, 6-4. At No. 2, Coryell defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-0. Fink (No. 3) and Brascugli (No. 4) triumphed 6-0, 6-1. No. 5 Holt conquered her Knight opponent 6-2, 6-1. Rounding out the team at No. 6, Oya won 6-2, 6-0.
