csssaints.com) -- The St. Scholastica women's tennis team swept Bethany Lutheran College 9-0 Saturday evening at the Arrowhead Tennis Center. The Saints have shutout the Vikings in 15 straight matches.
Doubles
Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) and
Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College), the No. 1 team, swept their opponents 8-0. At No. 2,
Elizabeth Fink (Rochester, Minn. /Rochester Century HS) and
Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) won 8-1. The No. 3 team,
Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and
Elise Hauer (Duluth, Minn. /Duluth East HS), were triumphant with a final score 8-2.
Singles
Three out of six Saints swept their singles matches. Scanlan (No. 1), Rice (No. 2), and
Miki Samz (Savage, Minn. /Burnsville HS) at No. 3 all won with a score of 6-0, 6-0. At No. 4,
Emma Bartels (Roseville, Minn. /Mounds View HS (Minn.-Duluth)) lost her first set but won the second and the third to win 6-4, 6-1, (10-8). No. 5
Serena Hutson (Meridian, Idaho /Bishop Kelly HS) also lost her first set, but was able to win the second and third to win with a final score of 1-6, 7-5, (13-11).
Jolene Duda (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS), No. 6, was victorious, winning 6-0, 6-3.
