-Foss sets program record in the 3000m run
WINONA, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team began the 2017 outdoor season on Saturday at the Dingels/Brueggen Open, hosted by Saint Mary's University.
Top Performances
Frank Cerar (Plainview, Minn./Plainview-Elgin-Millville HS) was runner-up in the 110m hurdles, finishing in a time of 16.69. He was also second in the pole vault, clearing a personal-best outdoor height of 12'2" (3.71m).
Wyatt Helgeson (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS) was third in that event, clearing the same height, but taking more total attempts.
Cerar was not done for the day as he placed third in the discus throw with a personal-best toss of 116'2" (35.41m).
Easton Foss (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) was fifth in the 3,000m run, posting a program record time of 9:13.50.
Adam Wallenta (Eagan, Minn./Farmington HS) was seventh in that event at 9:29.33.
Ben Fern (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS) finished fourth in the 400m dash with a time of 54.80.
Davon Bryant (Minneapolis, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) and
Kyle Beck (Glencoe, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake HS) both qualified for the 100m dash finals, but did not compete in those finals.
Jonah Alm (Two Harbors, Minn./Duluth East HS) was eighth in the 200m dash with a time of 26.18.
