csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team fell to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 7-2 on Sunday at Lifetime Fitness.
Doubles
The Eagles (17-2) swept the three doubles matches to start things off. The No. 3 CSS team of
Elise Hauer (Duluth, Minn. /Duluth East HS) and
Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) challenged, but fell by an 8-6 score.
Singles
La Crosse then swept the three of the top four singles matches to clinch the dual.
Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College) dropped her match at the No. 2 spot in a third-set super-breaker 4-6, 6-0, (10-6).
The winners for CSS came at the bottom of the singles lineup.
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS) won her fourth straight match, prevailing in a third set super-breaker at the No. 5 spot 6-2, 3-6, (10-4). The other winner was
Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) at the No. 6 spot in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.

The Saints (11-4) will have their final home match of the season next Saturday when they face Bethany Lutheran College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play at the Arrowhead Tennis Center.
