csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team defeated Martin Luther College 8-1 Friday night at the Arrowhead Tennis Center.
Doubles
The Saints swept all three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of
Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and
Elise Hauer (Duluth, Minn. /Duluth East HS) won 8-2.
Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico /Universidad Tecmilenio) and
Emma Bartels (Roseville, Minn. /Mounds View HS (Minn.-Duluth)) teamed to win at the No. 2 spot 8-1.
Kelly Neil (Mora, Minn. /Mora HS) and
Syd Holt (Crosslake, Minn. /Pequot Lakes HS) were the final team to win 8-5 at No. 3.
Singles
Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) had no trouble at No. 1 singles, winning by scores of 6-1, 6-1.
Miki Samz (Savage, Minn. /Burnsville HS) prevailed 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot.
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS) at No. 3 and
Taylor Hays (Altoona, Wis. /Altoona HS) at No. 4 both won by 6-0, 6-1 scores. The final winner on the night was
Jolene Duda (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 6 spot.
